why this blog

I’m a thinker…maybe a better word would be a wonderer…but I would never call myself a writer.  HOWEVER…sometimes I feel compelled to write out some of my thoughts, and I’m “just thinking” that’s what blogs are about.

I’m writing about some of the seasons of my life–many of which have come and gone, some I’m still in process, and others I’m just now entering.  My blogs reflect these seasons of life, and are categorized accordingly.

I like taking pictures. Every once in a (great) while, I get a good one! All pictures shown have been taken by me.

  1. Hi Janet. I know this is kinda crazy but I googled you just now while watching your family on a rerun of Family Feud. (I know…isn’t that an odd thing to do!) I was drawn to your family when your son talked about leaving teaching to pursue his calling in medicine and then super curious as you spoke of being a hospital chaplain. So I googled and just found your blog. I’m inspired! I am a woman who loves Jesus….a professional counselor…A mom of three college students…a wife of a wounded warrior and a recent ovarian cancer survivor. My dream is to speak and write. I keep a little “practice blog” that few see and for now that’s okay. I have a huge desire to branch out into my dream and it just feels like the time is approaching! So…dear stranger who feels just a touch like a kindred spirit…you have inspired me…through your presentation on tv (I know – so weird!!) and through the bits you have shared on your blog! PS. The show is ending and I see now that you lost…sorry!

    • Hello Marianne! What a nice surprise as a result of Family Feud. Thanks for the encouragement…and for the condolence, too! It does, indeed, seem as though we are kindred spirits with some similarities in our life journey. I do hope you will pursue your dream of speaking and writing. I’m finding that the older I get…the more I’m feeling led to just “go for it” in many aspects of my life. Chaplaincy was one area, as I left a career with my state denominational convention just three years ago in order to pursue it. I consider my blog to be a late-in-life hobby, and available for any who want to read it. And Family Feud, well…why not!!! I’m praying for you now, that you will flourish in your giftedness and will bless many in the process. Your Sister in Christ, Janet
